Rhiannon Williams-Hale

Rhiannon Williams-Hale

A native of Barry, Rhiannon's formal training began with piano and vocal scholarships to London's Royal Academy of Music, RWCMD and Cardiff University before achieving her Fellowship from the London College of Music and distinctions at Licentiate and Associate levels with the Trinity, Guildhall and Royal Schools of Music.

Her passion for vocal music began at a young age, achieving the title of British and Welsh BET Choirgirl of the Year during the London finals of '89.

As an Honorary Lady Member of Treorchy Male Choir and a Vice President of the Phoenix Singers ladies choir, her professional accompanying career began in 1998 and included principal roles with Treorchy, Bridgend, Pontarddulais and Llanelli mvc's, accompanying many established singers such as Alfie Boe, Rebecca Evans, Shan Cothi, Rhys Meirion and Elin Manahan Thomas to name a few.

In 2002, Rhiannon became Musical Director of the Ynysybwl Ladies Choir, steering the ladies to victories at the Abergavenny and Hereford festivals.
Ten years later, she was appointed (from a strong field) to be Musical Director of Bridgend Male Choir where, under her leadership, they achieved first place at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod in 2014.

Rhiannon has recently been appointed Musical Director of the highly acclaimed "Wessex Male Choir" - based in Swindon.
She resides in the Vale of Glamorgan and combines her freelance work alongside a full time post as organist for the local government in the field of bereavement.

In June 2016, Rhiannon became principal accompanist of the Kenfig Hill and District Male Choir and both Rhiannon & The Choir are looking forward to working together.
